This is Me. A Member of the Sound Community.
Involvement
Building a supportive community of sound engineers of all backgrounds has become a crucial mission of mine since entering the working world. As a young female engineer, I struggled to navigate my place within the industry and hoped for better representation and support. Overcoming this and recognising my success , I began collaborating with Birmingham City University to begin showing representation for young female engineers and sharing my experiences.
Welcome to my work so far...

Experience in TV
Birmingham City University
Coming back as an alumni to record a facilities tour at BCU brought conversations regarding my experience in industry. The article discusses how my undergraduate degree "propelled me in the working world". Being given the voice to discuss my first year of experiencing the working world was a milestone. This article is the beginning of the representation work I aim to add to the sound community. Showcasing female success in a male dominated industry.

After studying BSc (Hons) Music Technology and later entering the audio industry, the placement year gave me a head start. I reinstated my confidence in my abilities, social skills when networking and, solidified my skills as an audio engineer.
A Female Voice
Peak Music - Eve Horne
Eve Horne was an inspiration and a guiding light during the pandemic. Horne has created waves for the audio industry with her #Unheard compaign - a campaign that brings awareness to the 2% of women in the music industry. Our paths crossed from a small message exchanged on social media, and little did I know she'd be the grounding representation I needed to navigate my place in the industry. My advise to those out there is to never be afraid to get in contact because it might be just what you need.
