Specialising in immersive audio through a sound design lens, each project has attempted to approach social issues and traditional culture with a creative, practical audio solution.

The Investigation of Immersive Audio in an Accessible Digitally Constructed Framework

Presented at Digital Technology Degree Show

Innovation Fest 2022

A study proposing to investigate virtual environments, utilising existing technologies to create a financially and physically accessible immersive audio platform. The project undertook thorough research in immersive sound technologies to introduce a virtual concert space within a game engine, that replicates real-time acoustics to a modelled music venue.

Natyam Simulator

Published Demo at the NIME Conference 2022

 

Attempting to reinvent the relationship between dance and music, the Natyam Simulator explores an innovative way to bring traditional ancient dance conventions to the modern world of technology. Inspired by ancient Indian dance style, Bharatanatyam, the Natyam Simulator embodies a creative solution for Carnatic music to be delivered from a dancer’s lens.

The project was submitted and accepted to the NIME 2022 conference under the Demo category.

PARA ATMOS

Synth Hackathon 2022

 

A generative synthesis instrument that produces music based on the current weather. Open Weather’s live weather API is used to produce the initial tonal characteristics of the synth while information about the instrument's immediate surroundings continuously changes and modulates the sound thanks to sensors housed within the instrument. The instrument provides a soundscape that compliments and is unique to its current location and its climate.
